The final two weeks of the museum’s open season will feature activities for our younger audience during the school holidays. Everyday, quizzes and extra activities, mostly around the Halloween theme, are there to make the visit extra special for the children. There is also the return of the immensely popular ‘Make a Monster out of Rubbish’ competition, that caused a sensation last year!
On Thursday 18 October Allan’s Magic, rated as the best magic show in the North East, comes back by popular demand. There will be two performances at 2 pm and 3 pm.
On Friday 26 October we are staging our HALLOWEEN afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm: two hours of truly terrifying mayhem!! Most scary (perhaps) is a traditional Punch and Judy show featuring the outrageous antics of Mr Punch in this truly historic children’s entertainment; and scary face painting and Halloween arts and crafts complete a great line up. Best news of all is that all this is included in our normal admission price!!!
The Traveller’s Rest tea room is open throughout and offers hot and cold light lunches during the holiday period. There is also a chance to hear the mighty Mortier Dance Organ pound out a Halloween selection for the last time before a winter rebuild commences..
